Yesterday was quite possibly one of the best days of my life. First, I had the day off, always fun. Second, I was on my way to Drake's house (granted, that happens a lot, but that's always one of the best parts of my day). Third, as I am driving I was flipping radio stations, something I don't do often in my car because I have so many cds and guess what I hear the d.j. say!!!! Her exact words were, "Stay tuned for your chance to win Gavin DeGraw and Howie Day tickets." And she said it so calmly, I would have been freaking out if I were her because I love them! Actually, I did freak out, I started shrieking and almost crashed my car. But I safely made it to Drake's, and I was calling Teetz every five seconds but he wasn't answering because he was on the other line with Tobin. Finally he answers and I tell him and he freaks out (as much as Teetz can freak out about anything - he actually was a bit more calm than me). We had been randomly checking Ticketmaster to see if they would ever be anywhere near us and the only show ever listed was in Kettering, Ohio and at first Teetz was like, even if we win tickets, I am not going to Ohio. I had to explain a time or two that, no sweetheart, the concert is here. Well, technically it is in Iowa, fucking Council Bluffs at that, but TEETZ AND I ARE GOING TO SEE GAVIN DEGRAW AND HOWIE DAY!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited about this, it is going to be an awesome show and I know I am going to bawl my fucking eyes out when Howie sings "Collide". I know he has other great songs and I love them and this is one of the songs everyone knows because it was his first single, but I love it so much because it is so honest. This song pretty much sums up how relationships, how you are so in love with this person and you are scared out of your mind that you can love someone so much, but it doesn't matter because you are together. I love it I love it I love it. and GAVIN DEGRAW, wow, don't even get me started. Well, I am going to start anyway. I love him too, quite simply. And I get to hear "Follow Through" LIVE! LIVE! How amazing is that going to be. I know I am probably going to cry then too, but hey, what can I say, I am a crier. If there is a song that is so amazing and I get that emotional over it, so be it, leave me alone, I am allowed to cry. Plus, these are two of my favorite artists, and they are actually REAL ARTISTS and they write their own music and they play their own instruments. I can't help it if I cry, I cried at the Rascal Flatts concert back in November when they sang "I'm Movin' On" but how can you not cry at that one? It's also among my favorite songs. And at the same show when Julie Roberts sang "Break Down Here", whoa, amazing. I don't think it is just the lyrics that always brings me to tears, though that is a large part. I think it also has to do with the voices singing them and how some of them are so amazing that it just moves me. Like with Julie Roberts, man, she can sing, she is absolutely AMAZING, thus why she is one of my favorite singers. I am so excited, wow, I feel like shouting from my front porch, but I think my white trash neighbors might get mad and start leaving more garbage on the lawn then. Gross. So I will shout here instead: I GET TO SEE GAVIN DEGRAW AND HOWIE DAY WITH TEETZ ON JULY 16TH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, it is out of my system for a while, but I am sure I will need to write about it again later.
I know I complain about the summers here in Lincoln quite a bit, but I really do love this time of year. The only part I hate is the humidity. People don't always realize that Minnesota gets really hot in the summer, we're not 30 below all year round. We just don't have the humidity quite like Nebraska does. But I love being outside and laying out and being in the sun. I was listening to the radio the other day and new research has found that too little sun can be as bad for you as over-exposure and it might actually be beneficial for people to spend 15 minutes or so two or three times a week out in the sun without sun screen because you need vitamin D which the sun helps your body create and sunscreen thus blocks out the sun and the ability to do so. Now, I think they're going overboard and being sensationalistic by saying "Sunscreen causes cancer!" but in truth it contributes to it if you do not get enough vitamin d - and most people do not get enough vitamin d to begin with. I am not sure why this post turned kind of serious, (considering not too long ago I was just shouting about GAVIN DEGRAW AND HOWIE DAY,) and I am not getting on a soap box or anything about it, nor do I think we should all run around all the time without being smart about time spent in the sun, I just think it is a good idea to pay attention to this research because a lot of people don't know. And in general, most people don't get the vitamins they need anyway, but now they are doing worse damage to themselves. I don't know, whatever.
And by the way, yes, we are going out to the bars again this weekend. Even though it is the 4th of July weekend, give the cell a call if you're in town, it'll be fun. Last weekend was a blast. Granted, I was in a fighting mood, thus why when Drake's ex girlfriend kept calling I got so annoyed that on the 5th call I finally told her I was going to punch her in the face if she didn't quit, but hey, don't fuck with me. I know I said in a previous post that we wouldn't go out every weekend because none of us had the money, yet somehow we always manage to come up with at least a couple bucks to be able to have some drinks. I think it is worth it, we are just helping Teetz get it out of his system. As long as I keep telling myself and my mother that, we are golden ;)

Sometimes I Get A Little Belligerent
I like to drink. This is no secret, anyone who knows me knows I, more than occasionally, like to partake in the consumption of adult beverages. Last night Teetz, JohnRoss, Drake, Kayleen and I were at Sandy's, and eventually were joined by Amanda, Greg and random other people, and I was ready to fight. I am not sure exactly what came over me as the evening went on. Everything started fine around nine or so, we hit Sandy's by 9:30, everything was kickin', and then Drake's ex-girlfriend starts calling. She had been sending him texts all day and called around maybe 11 or so. I answer and basically said, "Look you dumb bitch, leave my boyfriend alone because he doesn't want to talk to you." I then hung up. She called back at least four more times and it always went the same way: me telling her to stop calling him and her being a dumb bitch. Finally by the 5th call I told her I was going to punch her in her face. It was ridiculous how much punishment she wanted to take. Then today she sent him a text asking for his address and neither of us responded. She called this afternoon when I was with him at his family's house and he handed me the phone. Apparently she finally got the hint because she didn't say a word when I answered and she hung up. On a similar note, Jenny continues to randomly IM and email Teetz and leave Facebook messages about how they need to hang out or whatever. I don't think she got the memo that he really doesn't like her and wants nothing to do with her. Personally, if someone I perceived to be a friend never responded to my messages and whatnot, I would take it as a hint that we're probably not actually friends. I just don't think she gets it, so me being in my fighting mood last night, I called and left her a voicemail informing her that she and Teetz really aren't friends. He was cracking up the whole time, so maybe she will get it this time around, but I guess we will have to see. I'm sure she will think that I did this all on my own, but hey, I had to get her phone number from somewhere because I certainly don't have it in my phone anymore - and you bet your ass Teetz is the one who gave me her number to do the calling.
On the downside, last night around ten before all this shit went down with all these dumb bitches, Adam called. It was The Call, and I really have not had time to process it until now that he is actually in another country. He didn't have long to talk because he was literally leaving in a matter of minutes, but he was like, I promised you I'd call and so I am keeping that promise - so of course I'm crying and telling him that it's not enough time and it's not how I wanted to say good bye because I wanted to be able to hug him and say good bye face to face and he's telling me not to cry and that it wasn't his intention to make me cry. He said he'd be back before I knew it and that everything would be fine and he would be fine and that I shouldn't worry because the guys he is with know what they're doing. Finally came the moment of truth and we're saying good bye and I told him I loved him and that I would be at the armory in Grand Island when he got back and he said that he loved me too. To finally hear it word for word was kind of a shock almost, and of course I am still crying because that's what I do, but I asked him to say it one more time for me and I could tell he has one of those sheepish smiles on his face but he said he loved me again and then he told me to go back inside and have a good time and not to worry and drink some drinks for him. I think this conversation may have contributed greatly to me drinking myself stupid for the next four hours, but hey, if I am drinking for myself and for Adam, that's a whole lot of fucking alcohol I have to consume. In addition, I also ended up drinking a blow job shot off Teetz, which made me laugh. He was kind of drunk when it happened which made it funnier, because when he actually put the shot glass between his legs I realized how close my face actually was to his penis and I almost could not go through with it. Not to mention the fact that the bartender put a shit-ton of whipped cream on top, and I mean a TON. But it was all good. Then at Jimmy John's later I pretty much re-enacted the scene from When Harry Met Sally and the place literally stopped. One guy asked if he should give me a tip. It was hilarious, I was drunk, I was with some of my best friends and aside from the fact that I had to say good bye to one of the people I love most in this world, it was a great night with my friends and my boyfriend and as of tonight, all is right in my world. Honestly, right now I could not ask for more.
